Kalgan Volunteer Bushfire Brigade

Due to forecast high risk weather conditions and reduced volunteer resourcing over the holiday period, the City of Albany advise that a

Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban

will be in place across the entire municipality on the following days:

Thursday 25 December – Christmas Day
Friday 26 December – Boxing Day
Thursday 1 January – New Year’s Day

The Harvest and Vehicle Movement Bans will be in place for the full day on each of the days listed.

These bans will be implemented with the aim to reduce the risk of bushfire and to ensure community safety during periods of elevated bushfire risk over the festive period.

Welcome to the Kalgan Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Website.

Kalgan is a rural district within the City of Albany in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. We provide fire response, prevention and community education to the Kalgan area. While our primary focus is in the protection of our own community in Kalgan, we are often called to assist other brigades and agencies in times of need.

The Brigade is entirely operated by volunteers, managed by the City of Albany and supported by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services of Western Australia (DFES), which provides technical and operational support as well as the training network.

Hi Kalgan followers,

If you haven’t got around to paying your annual $30 donation to the Brigade we can accept you donation by direct deposit to:

BSB 066 500, ACC 10622318.

The funds are used to supplement the DFES grant funding we receive and will help pay for vital equipment and also to fund the general running of the Brigade.

If anyone wishes to make a general donation over and above the $30 that would be gratefully received.
